The house that contains the collection of the Silverton Country Historical Society and museum is an exhibit in and by itself. Built in 1908 on the south side of E. Main St. between First and Second Streets by Louis Ames, it was moved to its present site in 1975. The house has had three owners and is named the Ames/Warnock/Burch house in honor of those families.
Each room has many special displays that depict aspects of life during the past 150 years. Just about all of the collection comes from the descendants of Silverton pioneers. In keeping with our Mission Statement, items in our collection relate to the Silverton Country as defined by the boundaries of the Silverton School District.
